Who is James Campanas? I first became involved with DC-AC power inverters as an aircraft electrician in the US Army. After my six and a half
year service, I returned to my native Canada. I started a marine electrical company while finishing my bachelor degree at
the University of British Columbia and I upgraded my electronics training at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
After graduating in 1996, I entered the profession of customer service and sales. Four years were spent working as a technical
advisor for a large DC-AC power inverter manufacturer in Canada. I finished my Masters in Business Administration and presently sell communication
services in Canada. In the four years I worked for the DC-AC power inverter
manufacturer, I found that most people knew very little about DC-AC power inverters. I designed the Alternate
Power Calculator to be simple and easy to understand so that almost anyone could use it. The program addresses the
three most common questions regarding the operation and use of DC-AC power inverters:
How do I calculate the correct size of DC-AC power inverter for my power requirements? What is the correct battery bank size for my power requirements? What
size cable should I use for my power requirements?
The Alternate Power Calculator will continue to grow.
